Overall, we loved the natural setting of the Inn and its laid-back, life-on-an-island ambiance. The meal itself was exquisite. The food was healthy and thoughtfully prepared. The only thing I would like to point out is that the portions were small and there were not a lot of emphasizes on meat – so burgers and steak lovers beware. The service was pleasant, with a few misses here and there. After dinner, everyone was invited to a tour of the kitchen and speaking with the chef, who was friendly and in good spirit.

How to get there:
Willows Inn, situated on Lummi Island, is approximately two and a half hours from downtown Seattle. It takes one hour forty-five to get to the Whatcom Chief Ferry Terminal in Bellingham. The ferry ride takes fifteen minutes, runs twice about an hour, has a capacity of 20 vehicles and is on a first-come, first served basis.
Reservations:
This is where it becomes tricky – If you are staying at the Inn as a guest, you can simply add a request for dinner reservation. However, for guests that are not staying at the Inn they only accept reservations within 2 weeks of the requested date and only by telephone. (888-294-2620 toll-free or 360-758-2620).
The Inn closes in January and February.
Finally, there are plenty of things to do on Lummi Island, such as:

Thank you Rommel. I agree. I just sold my piano and this dinner costed me half of the proceed. It was worth the experience and now I will resume to homemade food for a while. The price I have to pay 🙂

The pantry is so interesting and the food looks delicious. A bit pricey to the starving artist, though. 😀

I agree. The place is really cute. It did cost me half a piano and I am back to strict budget and home-made food for a while.

We should totally do it. Since I’ve been there this time of the year, then maybe we should pick a different season to try out different ingredients. Let me know when you are back to the States and and up for it. Anytime works.
