America the Beautiful

Hello, I am back. Sorry about the silence.

I’ve been away on a road trip visiting national parks of America’s west.

We began our journey at McCarran International Airport in Vegas, where we picked up the rental car and drove to Springdale, Utah.

After spending a full day in Zion National Park, we moved on to Bryce Canyon.

Then made our way south, passing Paria Canyon, into Page, Arizona.

It was there we toured the Antelope Canyon

and walked up to the Horseshoe Bend.

After spending two nights in Page, we continued our journey eastward through the legendary Monument Valley

And ventured northbound into Moab, Utah – using the town as a base to visit Canyonlands

And Arches National Park

From Moab, we made the scenic but excruciating 8+ hour drive out of Utah, through Idaho to Jackson Hole, Wyoming – where we spent the next couple of days visiting Grand Teton National Park.

We concluded our trip at Yellowstone – the first National Park in the US and the world. We spent five days there visiting different sections of the park

viewing wildlives.

From the magnificent rock formations at Arches and Zion, to the entrancing techno-colored hoodoos in Bryce; From the snow-capped mountain range and pristine lake in Grand Teton, to the dramatic geothermal hot springs and gushing geysers at Yellowstone

Each day we hopped on a journey that’s entirely different from the day before. It gave us a sense of how vast and varied the landscape is and made us appreciate this beautiful country we now call home.

God bless America!

  1. Your photos are jaw-dropping gorgeous! Definitely brings back memories…it’s been years since I last visited that part of the U.S., but your posts and photos make me want to return soon! Glad you had fun, and hopefully, weather hadn’t gotten too hot yet (summertime can be unbearable sometimes)!

  2. That sounds like a fantastic road trip! I know the US is vast, but it still amazes me how much the scenery and landscapes change across the country. I visited Yosemite when I was in the States for the first time two summers ago, but would love to see more of the national parks one day.

      1. I’ve got my fingers crossed for a return trip one day. There are just so many beautiful national parks I’d love to see across the US! And as you say, the beauty of it is that they’re ever-changing.

  3. Oh beautiful for spacious skies… and canyons. I always say the Mormons really scored when they got Utah. I think the Presbyterians should have gotten it. Or the Methodists. 🙂

  4. Stunning! We will may be heading to Utah in 2019. There’s going to be a big celebration for the 150th Anniversary the Transcontinental Railroad was completed. I went to a Chinatown town hall meeting about it last week and it was great. They were talking about raising awareness about Chinese American history. They were brainstorming ideas how to get the younger generations and mainland interested saying that it’s a forgotten part of history even by the Chinese. Corky Lee, the photographer organized the event. Really cool event, I saw a part of Chinatown I never knew existed. I should email you the event. there’s no set info just planning stages.

  5. I have been meaning to comment on this post-finally getting the time to do it! We did part of this trip the same way-flew to vegas (hubby did a WSOP event), rented a car and drove to Zion for a couple days, then to Bryce canyon. Beautiful part of the country! Your pictures are amazing, great job capturing the beauty. We are hoping to go back to both of these -and a few others on your trip -in the near future. Now that we have a second home in Tucson it will be a little easier getting there (I hope!).
    Thanks for sharing!
