Merry Christmas from Lisbon

Feliz Natal de Lisboa🎄🎄🎄

Here are some memorable moments from Christmas 2021

At Largo do Chafariz in Alfama

At Praça Dom Pedro IV

At Praça do Comércio

Praça da Figueira Market

Market at Praça Dom Pedro IV (a.k.a Rossio Square) where I found candied hibiscus and a rare Doll Hospital

Winter Wonderland at Parque Eduardo VII where I had, by far, the best pão com chouriço fresh off a wood-fired oven

The Sphere at Praça Luís de Camões

Street Decorations

Chiado

Rua Augusta

Christmas decorations in Sintra

Sintra Vegan Market where I found the best EVER cookie maker, vegan or non-vegan – Just look at all the flavours😋.

Sunset from Castel de São Jorge after Christmas Concert in the castle

There’s also a light show at Belém Tropical Gardens with the theme of Alice in Wonderland. I will update once I have a chance to go. Lots of do!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Happy holidays!!!

  1. I knew places like Germany and Central/Eastern Europe (e.g. Prague, Vienna) go all out with Christmas decorations and markets, but I had no idea that Portugal was just as festive! Especially at night, when everything seems to radiate as bright as day…enjoy a lovely holiday season in your new country, and here’s looking to a fun and exciting 2022 year!

  2. Oh my! 😮 I love the jellyfish!! Rome was dead in comparison, but we never made it to the centre. The streets in Monteverde around amore’s father’s place were not illuminated at all. No money, they say. Also it’s been raining for days now. At home is just fine right now. All well to you!

    1. I heard it was like that last year too. At least they got to put up something before Omicron got out. New Years celebration is cancelled for sure. It’s been raining for days here as well. Must be a big thick cloud covering all of us :(. Perfect time for cooking and reading. Same to you my friend 🙂
