That’s a Wrap – Munich, Germany

Sorry for the absence in the past month. I’ve been busy – had friends visiting from the States, and passed my Portuguese A1 exam.

Now that I’m back. First, I would like to wrap up the Bavarian/Salzburg trip from last autumn, which is long overdue. Then I will write about my spring week in London, visiting friends and seeing a couple of shows on the West End. Then a dinner at the ONLY Michelin-starred Japanese/Portuguese restaurant in Portugal, and recipes of course.

Munich Germany – Art & Opera

Sunday is €1 museum day at the Pinakotheks. I had Leberkäse for breakfast, then headed over to the Alte Pinakothek for my appointed time entry.

Munich, Germany

After making a side-trip to Hallstatt, I got back to Munich just before midnight. Thank goodness the little deli at the Central Station was still open and I was able to grab a roasted chicken for dinner.

Nevertheless, the following morning, I woke up with a healthy appetite!

Arrival in Munich

I just completed my first trip outside of Portugal since my move to Lisbon. It’s also my first “international” trip after the start of this pandemic. I was super excited, yet nervous about being in a crowded space – airports, airplanes, trains, restaurants & concert venues, you name it – In the end, my fear was overcome by the great yearning to travel, to be in some place else. So there I went.
